The RX-8 is amazing on the track when it comes to handling and it's high reving engine but just like most mass produced mid-level sports cars the brakes are sub par and are usually in major need of an upgrade if you want to take it to the track for any extended period of time. After taking a few laps around the track you will notice your brakes will start to fade. Why is this? Because your stock brakes do not dissipate heat properly to keep temperatures down, your stock rubber lines flex too much, and your basic brake fluid brake fluid can get extremely hot which would literally cause it to boil and bring air bubbles in the lines which, for obvious reasons, is not good. The stock pads are made more for comfort and quite operation as apposed to most racing pads. The problem with that is they also wear a lot quicker but you don't need to have loud dusty racing brake pads to make good stopping power on the track.
To help combat these issues with the stock brakes Rotary Bum has put together a Track Day Brake Kit for your RX8 so you can spend more time on the track and still have a better braking feel for longer. This kit includes StopTech Slotted Rotors for the front & rear, StopTech Performance Pads for the front & rear, Stoptech Stainless Steel Brake Lines for the front & rear PLUS a free bottle of high temp StopTech SRT-600 High Performance Street Brake Fluid.
